*[Hi+] continuous shooting mode, electronic shutter. Continuous shooting speed may be lower in some conditions.

The Alpha 7R VI features an approximately 66.8MP full-frame, fully stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor. It is paired with Sony's BIONZ XR2 image processing engine, which includes built-in AI capabilities to support detailed image quality and advanced camera performance.

Using the electronic shutter in Hi+ continuous shooting mode, the Alpha 7R VI can capture images at up to 30 frames per second while retaining its full 66.8MP resolution. Actual continuous shooting performance can vary depending on shooting conditions and the lens attached.

Yes. The camera supports 8K recording at up to 30p and 4K video at frame rates up to 120p. Recording in 8K results in a narrower angle of view, and Sony recommends using a full-frame 35mm lens for this mode. APS-C S35 shooting is fixed off when recording 8K.

Sony equips the Alpha 7R VI with a 5-axis in-body image stabilization system rated at up to 8.5 stops at the center. This rating is based on CIPA 2024 standards using the FE 50mm F1.2 GM lens. Actual stabilization performance can differ depending on the lens being used.

The Alpha 7R VI uses a fast hybrid autofocus system with as many as 759 phase-detection AF points. Its AI-based subject recognition supports several detection options, including Auto, Human, Animal/Bird, Animal, Bird, Insect, Car/Train, and Airplane.

A higher megapixel count can provide greater image detail, but it also creates larger files and can increase requirements for storage, processing, editing, and suitable lenses. The Alpha 7R VI combines its 66.8MP resolution with faster processing and AI-assisted features to help manage these demands.

The Alpha 7R VI is compatible with CFexpress Type A memory cards, including Sony's CEA-G160T. CFexpress Type B cards and CFexpress 4 cards are not supported. When a CFexpress 4 card is used, it will be recognized and handled as a CFexpress 2 card.

The Alpha 7R VI uses Sony's NP-SA100 InfoLITHIUM SA battery. Its CIPA-rated battery life is up to approximately 710 still images when using the LCD monitor or 600 images through the electronic viewfinder on a single charge. The camera also supports fast charging when connected to a USB PD-compatible power supply.
