The HVL-F60RM2 is designed for use with Sony Alpha camera bodies and communicates through the Multi Interface Shoe as part of the Alpha Lighting System. As a Sony flash designed specifically for compatible Alpha cameras, it provides detailed camera-to-flash communication for precise lighting control.

The HVL-F60RM2 delivers a maximum Guide Number of 60 (GN60) at 200mm and ISO 100. It provides high-output illumination for compatible mirrorless cameras and covers focal lengths from 20mm, extending to 14mm when the built-in wide panel is used, through 200mm.

Yes. The flash supports synchronization at shutter speeds of up to 1/400 second and includes High Speed Sync (HSS), allowing compatible cameras to use faster shutter speeds when required.

Yes. The HVL-F60RM2 incorporates 2.4 GHz radio wireless communication and can perform in several roles. It can be used directly on the camera, serve as a radio wireless commander, or operate as a radio wireless receiver for off-camera lighting configurations.

Sony's radio wireless flash system can support up to 15 flash units. In GROUP mode, up to five groups can be configured, while TTL and Manual modes support up to three groups. When operating as a receiver, the maximum is three groups.

With a compatible Sony Alpha camera, the HVL-F60RM2 can support high-speed continuous shooting of up to 200 frames at rates of up to 10 fps. Per-frame P-TTL flash control adjusts the flash output for changing lighting conditions during the sequence.

P-TTL provides flash exposure control on an individual-frame basis. The flash output is automatically adjusted as lighting conditions change, and this per-frame control is available in the Mid, Hi, and Lo continuous shooting modes to help maintain consistent exposure.

Yes. When paired with a compatible camera, the flash can work with automatic white balance adjustment to help reproduce natural-looking facial colors. Its compatibility with face detection also helps provide appropriate illumination for the primary subject, including when multiple people are in the frame.

The HVL-F60RM2 features a durable, high-output construction with dust and moisture resistance for demanding shooting environments. However, it is not guaranteed to be completely dust- or moisture-proof, and the overall level of resistance can also depend on the camera body to which the flash is attached.
