Sony BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 | Single Soundbar | 360 Spatial Sound Mapping | Dolby Atmos®/DTS:X® I HT-A8000

The BRAVIA Theater Bar 8 (HT-A8000) supports major cinematic audio formats such as Dolby Atmos, DTS, and IMAX Enhanced. For music playback, it also supports 360 Reality Audio and Hi-Res Audio when compatible content is used.

The HT-A8000 contains 11 built-in speaker units arranged in a 5.0.2 configuration. The system combines front-, side-, and upward-firing speakers with a dedicated center channel designed to keep dialogue clear and positioned toward the screen. Its 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology further expands the perceived surround field.

360 Spatial Sound Mapping uses the soundbar's built-in speaker system to create a broader, more immersive surround environment. When compatible optional rear speakers are added, the technology can create virtual phantom speakers that help extend the soundstage around the listening position.

Yes. Through HDMI 2.1, the HT-A8000 supports 8K video at 60Hz and 4K video at 120Hz. It is also compatible with HDR formats including Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG, along with gaming technologies such as Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM).

The soundbar includes Sound Field Optimization, which uses built-in microphones to analyze the acoustic characteristics of your room. It then uses that information to automatically adjust the sound field for the listening environment.

Yes. The HT-A8000 can be expanded with compatible wireless subwoofers and rear speakers. Adding rear speakers can create a wider and more immersive surround presentation. For IMAX Enhanced certification, compatible rear speakers are required when the system is paired with a compatible subwoofer.

The HT-A8000 has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity. It also supports Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, and Spotify Connect, giving you several ways to stream compatible music and other content wirelessly.

The HT-A8000 is designed to integrate with compatible Sony BRAVIA TVs through features such as Acoustic Center Sync. This allows the TV's built-in speakers to contribute to the center channel, helping position dialogue more naturally with the on-screen action. Setup, sound settings, and firmware updates can also be managed through the BRAVIA Connect app.
